Gestern Nacht wurden in Los Angeles die 95. Oscars 2023 zelebriert. Bester Film ging an EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, der noch 6 weitere und damit am meisten Oscars mit nachhause nehmen konnte, u.a. für Beste Regie, Beste Hauptdarstellerin (Michelle Yeoh als erste Asiatin überhaupt), Beste/r NebendarstellerIn. Am zweitmeisten Oscars gingen an unseren Beitrag IM WESTEN NICHTS NEUES, allen voran als Bester Internationaler Film plus Kamera, Filmmusik und Produktionsdesign. Auch wenn es nicht der ganz große Wurf wurde, hat IM WESTEN NICHTS NEUES Oscar-Geschichte geschrieben. Es ist erst der vierte deutsche Film, der den "Auslands"-Oscar gewinnen konnte und überhaupt der erste, der daüberhinaus in anderen Kategorien nominiert war, allen voran als Bester Film. Am drittmeisten Oscars konnte THE WHALE mitnehmen, nämlich für den besten Hauptdarsteller und Beste Make-Up und Hairstyling. Der Rest wurde mit je einem Oscar weit gestreut (sieh unten). Durch den Abend führte Jimmy Kimmel.
