Heute Nacht wurden die 90. Oscars 2018 in Los Angeles verliehen

Als Bester Film wurde THE SHAPE OF WATER ausgezeichnet, der bei 13 Nominierungen auch Beste Regie, Beste Filmmusik und Bestes Production Design gewann und somit die meisten Oscars mitnehmen konnte. DUNKIRK folgt mit 3 Oscars in den technischen Bereichen. Beste Hauptdarstellerin ging an Frances McDormand in THREE BILLBOARDS und Bester Hauptdarsteller an Gary Oldman in DARKEST HOUR. Beste Nebendarstellerin gewann Allison Janney in I, TONJA und Bester Nebendarsteller Sam Rockwell ebenfalls in THREE BILLBOARDS. Bester Animationsfilm plus Bester Filmsong holte sich COCO. Bester nicht englisch-sprachiger Film ging an A FANTASTIC WOMAN, eine chilenisch-deutsch-amrikanische Produktion. Ein weiterer "deutscher" Oscar-Gewinn ging an Gerd Nefzer für Beste visuelle Effekte in BLADE RUNNER 2049. Gastgeber der 90. Oscars 2018 war Jimmy Kimmel.
